On Sundha
Tirtha,
Aghateswari Shakti is located with
Bhurbhuwasweshwar Shiva. Shiva and Shakti are radically alike.
Shiva is incomplete without Shakti. If 'I' of Shiva is rubbed
out, it will become 'Shava'. It is said in the Devi Bhagawat that
no one is disregarded by calling Rudraheena or Vishnuheena, but
weak and disabled are rediculed by calling 'Shaktiheena'.

There is a custom that Shakti has been worshipped for ancient time in India. The
chief cause of its spreading circulation is that of the addition
of the maternal feeling. Mother is the only most venerable and
endeared form for the living beings. A son may become unworthy
but a mother does never become undeserving. A mother is always
the well-wisher of her children. That is why the
worship of the mother is in vogue. Kind Mother defends all without
any difference and saturates them with blessings they desire.
Shakti is prevailed everywhere in this universe. On basis of this
faith, we worship the living effigy of Shakti.
